14 July 2009 Green Paper offers a route map for the future of social care The English Community Care Association (ECCA), the leading representative body for independent care providers, is delighted that the Government has published its Green Paper on the future of social care. Martin Green, Chief Executive of ECCA, says: “The Green Paper offers an opportunity to deliver a national social care service and to clarify how this will be funded. In future we need to see real clarity about how social care will be funded and a consistent and national offering which will end the postcode lottery”.
Martin Green continues: “This Green Paper is critical for all our futures. We hope it will ignite a national debate that will lead to clarity, consistency and proper funding for quality services in the future”. Ends Notes to Editors: ECCA works to ensure that care services are commissioned fairly, efficiently and on a properly funded basis, to meet the true costs of providing appropriate care Contact ECCA press on 020 7492 4844 or email
