PostCode Tariff ECCA has published a follow up report on the issue of care homes being charged retainer fees by GPs to visit and register care home residents. This new report examines the levels of awareness of PCTs of the issue and PCT attitudes towards GP retainers. It also highlights good practice in promoting care home residents’ access to primary care services, demonstrating the fact that such access varies according to location.
