Can health and social care be happily married?

Sponsored by Boots Care Services

Wednesday 17 November 2010
Holiday Inn, Bloomsbury, London WC1

Conference theme
The ever increasing demands on public services mean that difficult decisions have to be taken on the allocation of resources. There is much talk about shared values and common objectives with commissioners and providers collaborating to provide integrated care, but are these the basis for a marriage made in heaven? This event will review the relationship from all sides and hopefully point the way to a long and happy partnership.

Programme
The speaker line-up for the ECCA2010 Conference has now been confirmed

  • David Behan, the Department of Health's Director General of Social Care, will deliver the keynote speech and give an informed overview of the issues at stake.
  • Paul Allen, Chief Executive of the Abbeyfield Society, will provide his own first hand insights as major care provider into the everyday reality of integrated commissioning.

  • Liz McSheehy, Chief Executive of the National Skills Academy, in her presentation will emphasise the role and benefit of innovative training.
  • Professor Burns, National Clinical Director for Dementia, will discuss the challenge of how to promote better care of people with dementia within the NHS and social care communities.
